This change means travelers now have six different points currencies they can use for Hyatt redemptions, opening up new ways to maximize value and flexibility for award nights.

Mixed. While adding Aeroplan as a Hyatt redemption option is a win for flexibility—especially for those sitting on a pile of Aeroplan Miles—it’s unlikely to be the best value for most travelers. Hyatt’s own points (especially from Chase or Bilt transfers) still offer the strongest redemption rates. But for those with orphaned Aeroplan balances or limited access to other currencies, this is a welcome new tool.

Who Should Be Cautious
- Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards holders: These currencies still transfer 1:1 to Hyatt and offer the best value per point (~1.65¢/pt), so using Aeroplan Miles (valued at 1.4¢/pt) for Hyatt is generally less efficient.
- Aeroplan fans who maximize flight redemptions: Aeroplan’s best value is still for premium cabin flights—using miles for Hyatt may mean giving up outsized flight value.
- Marriott Bonvoy loyalists: Marriott points transfer to Hyatt at poor rates; this change doesn’t improve that situation, so stick with direct Hyatt earning if possible.
